Privacy Policy for TripPilot

TripPilot (“we”, “our”, or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how it is shared when you use the TripPilot mobile application.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the TripPilot mobile app and related services.

1. Information We Collect TripPilot does not require account registration and does not directly collect personal identity information such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
However, the app may process the following types of information:

A. User-Generated Content When you enter a travel request or message in the AI assistant, the text you submit (travel queries, destinations, preferences) is transmitted to a third-party AI service for itinerary generation. We do not request or require you to submit personal identity information in these messages.

B. Subscription & Purchase Information If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. TripPilot uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat may process: Anonymous device identifiers Subscription status information Purchase validation data TripPilot does not store or have access to your credit card information.

C. Local Storage The app stores the following data locally on your device:
Saved itineraries
Chat history
App preferences
Consent status
This data is not transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information We use information to: Generate AI-powered travel itineraries Improve itinerary relevance and formatting Validate subscription status Operate and maintain app functionality We do not use your information for advertising or marketing profiling.

3. Third-Party Services TripPilot uses the following third-party service providers:

A. AI Processing Provider TripPilot uses OpenRouter (which may route requests to OpenAI models) to generate travel itineraries. When you submit a travel query: The content of your message is securely transmitted to OpenRouter. OpenRouter may process the request using OpenAI models. The data is used solely to generate the requested itinerary. No advertising or profiling is performed. TripPilot does not sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes.

B. RevenueCat (Subscription Management) RevenueCat is used to validate in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase status information in accordance with their privacy policy.

C. Apple App Store All purchases are processed securely by Apple. TripPilot does not collect payment information.

4. Data Storage AI query text is transmitted securely via HTTPS. We do not permanently store AI requests on our own servers. Saved itineraries are stored locally on your device.

5. User Consent Before transmitting any travel query to the AI provider, TripPilot displays a consent sheet that: Explains what data is sent Identifies the AI provider (OpenRouter / OpenAI) Explains why data is transmitted Requires user agreement before proceeding You may withdraw consent by discontinuing use of the AI assistant feature.

6. Data Protection Rights Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: Access your data Request deletion Restrict processing Object to processing Data portability Because TripPilot does not store personal identity data on our servers, most user data remains on your device. 7. Children’s Privacy TripPilot is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected with a revised effective date.
